Metabolic and Endocrine problems

Common Diseases Treated:

· Hypothyroidism

· Hyperthyroidism

· Diabetes

Hypothyroidism:

One of most important pollutants for this condition is perchlorate, commonly used as rocket fuel. It is in our water and in our food chain. Most importantly it binds with iodine. Woman use more iodine then men. Is it any wonder that we are seeing so many hypothyroid women today? The main thyroid hormone, T-4 has to be converted to T-3  by the liver. For many patients this conversion process is marginal. It is estimated that the T-3 hormone accounts for 40% of the metabolic rate of the body that is attributed to the thyroid hormone. This conversion is dependent on manganese and selenium, both of which are deficient in the American diet due to mineral deficiency in our soil. We commonly treat this condition with nutrition and herbal therapy.

Diabetes:

Insulin's ability to bind with it's receptor site is dependent on the Omega-3 fatty acids. It is now also known that insulin requires an activator. We commonly use nutricuticals as well as Traditional Chinese herbal therapy to control this disease.
