Functional testing Testing of hormone levels, and stool analysis is an effective method to determine the underlying terrain imbalance. By addressing these imbalance optimum health can be obtained. We use the following tests in addition to the common blood tests. Adrenal Stress Index The Adrenal Stress Index is a saliva test done 4 times over the course of the day to determine the highs and lows of cortisol. When cortisol is imbalanced other hormones, notably thyroid and insulin are affected. This test also measures · DHEA for the ability to handle stress, · Insulin as it relates to cortisol, · Secretory IGa which evaluates how stress affects the immune system · Gluten antibodies to determine grain allergies · 17-OH Progesterone which is a precursor to cortisol Comprehensive Stool Analysis: The stool is examined for markers for digestive and immunologic imbalances. This is an excellent test for determining "leaky gut" or gut inflammation. Energetic testing: We also routinely analyze the energetic condition of the body at specific acupuncture points using the techniques pioneered by Matthew Van Beschoten.
